I worked really hardMar 19 2015Art & Design Department
I worked really hard. I put in a good portfolio and wrote a good statement of purpose.
If you want to go here, you better want to be into Illustration because everything else SUCKS.
I would not recommend this schoolSep 07 2014Art & Design Department
It was not hard for me to get in,Sep 08 2011Design Arts - Industrial Design/Graphic Design/etc
It was not hard for me to get in, but it really depends on your grades and abilities.
Take AP art if you can, take pre-college (they have scholarships too!), do as well as you can in high school! DO NOT INCLUDE ANIME IN YOUR PORTFOLIO.
ACT: 21 SAT: 2000 Female
I recommend you take time to explore your innerMar 07 2011Fine Arts - Painting/Sculpture/Photography/etc
I recommend you take time to explore your inner self before you go. Try to be aware of who you really are and what is really important to you. What do you believe in? what inspires you in life? What are you passionate about? what kind of thinker are you? Are you an individual or are you herd follower? DO you have your own unique way of thinking about things or not? Are you ready to be pushed to be creative and have your mind opened up to new ways of thinking and new means of expression.

I recommend you read quite a bit about modern art, contemporary art, conceptual art and anything that inspires creative thinking before you go. I also recommend you take time to explore your own creative side and push your self to go as far as you can on your own.. then when you want to be pushed further >> when your ready to be pushed to think in a whole new way and explore the creative arts in a whole new way. Thats when its best to come to MCOA.

You should be ready for a unique experience. You should be ready to be around folks who are very unique and have their own way of expressing themselves. You have to be ready to come up with your own ideas.. and explore your own unique self. You have to be ready to have people challenge you to think in new ways and explore new means of personal expression.

Its was a HUGE challange for me. But it was one of the most profound experiences I have ever been through.
I was changed forever for the GOOD> I woke up in life to come to a fuller understanding of who I am as a person.. and I have been forever changing myself for the better because of what I experienced here.
At times it was simple and fun. Other times it was a challenge.. other times I got a kick in the rear-end. But it was all for the good. Even when it was painful.. it was a Good pain... the kind of pain that woke me up and forever and set me on a much better path in life. I dont think I could have gotten such a mind opening and life altering experience anywhere else that I know of.

Really fantastic. I just wish I had gotten more out of it when I was there... and I could have if I had been more prepared.

Prepare yourself for something profound, and then go and get a unique experience that will change your life for the better forever.
