I'll say this about admissions: Marymount is still a well-kept secret. It took me a while to find Marymount, which was an excellent fit for an intelligent woman seeking a small, affordable, women-centered, liberal arts college near or in a city like New York, which is easy to get around for persons without cars. As Marymount's admission system is rolling, I applied to the college as a transfer, and rather late (April), and was still offered considerable scholarship funding and housing!

Don't bother. Fordham University has decided to "RAPE" us and close us down. They rent out space accross the street from Marymount for one of it's graduate centers. They decided they did not want to pay ret anymore so they got Marymount and set it up for failure. They stopped promoting Marmount as a school and hid it behind it's other campuses. They then differed students who wanted to be at another campus telling them that after a year they can transfer back. They raise our tuition. Then students started to leave because they could not afford to be there or they followed the directions and tried to apply once again to another campus. The alumni because pissed and did not want to contribute to a school they did not attend. Then Fordham decided that they were done and set close date for Marymount for June 2007. After June 2007, their graduate school can now be moved across the street and no more rent has to be paid. DON"T APPLY!!! There is no school. It closses June 2007.

I was a merchandising major, which they claimed to have amazing programs. NO, I read a article in their own paper saying no fashion majors were getting jobs because they did not have the right classes. What can an old lady who cannot dress teach me about fashion? I had friends that were actually told their major was offered at marymount, and it simply was not. Stay clear!!
