Essay (18) | Demonstrate that you are capable of working hard, and that you are a passionate person. Get involved with everything and anything you love or are interested by. You don't have to over-extend yourself, just do things you enjoy and give back to your community. Start the essay early!  I did well in high school, asked for great teacher recs, and really (really, really, really) focused on my essay.It is also very helpful to visit MHC and do an interview!!! Mount Holyoke is an institution that really values writing. In your essay, make sure it shows that you really want to come here. Emphasize extracurricular activities in which you have a genuine passion. Definitely arrange for an interview and network with alumnae and current students, if you can.
SATs, well written essays, lots of fun extracurriculars. It sounds cliched, but just being yourself (especially in the interview) helps a lot. |
