I applied. I didn't do anything special to get into Mount Holyoke over other schools. I was valedictorian of my high school and did fairly well on my standardized tests (but MHC does NOT requires these if the student feels they will hurt their chances of admission).

Do lots of extra carriculars, show you care about other people, not just yourself. It also helps to have broad interests and be openminded!

The college does not require SATs, and I think that focus is more on the type of classes taken, not the grades. Recommendations and Extra Curriculars are more important.

To get into this school? I applied. I don't think it's that selective. I'm a high school drop out (really. That's not a joke) so I assume they judged my application a little differently than most. Write honest, sincere and unique essays. Write about yourself, don't try to guess what the admissions board wants to hear from you. Be yourself. If Mount Holyoke doesn't want you, then you don't want them either. You'll get in somewhere, and probably love it there. Do not freak out. There is more to life than where you go to college.
