I had no issues getting in, but I think being an instate student helped. I would highly recommend living here and becoming a Montana resident before enrolling. It will save over $50,000 for a five year degree (I think the avg graduation for engineering students is around 6.3 years)

Early decision is definitely a must! It's not hard to get into the university for any major but working my butt off in high school definitely helped me get through my touch courses.

Since I was in-state my process of getting in was basically "can you spell your first and last name, know your SSN, and have above a 2.5 GPA?" Fortunately there is a very intelligent student body there even given those lax entrance requirements, and there is a substantial out-of-state and international student population.

The admissions process is very straightforward and the administration is extremely helpful. It is very similar to a number of schools in that it's not very difficult to get in, it's just difficult to stay on track. Your standardised test scores can be used to place you in classes, so pay attention to those requirements.
