There is something very unique about admission at Miami University. I would say the admission staff spends 50% more time on admission applications than other schools. Miami is extremely competetive and getting more so every day but unlike other universities miami will SERIOUSLY consider your special qualities and interests. For example if you do not have amazing test scores or an awesome GPA you still have a change to get into Miami if your essay blows them away. Things like that actually happen in admissions here, where they never would at other universities of Miami's caliber. Just a cool fact i thought i would share.

I just had a 27 on my ACT, 1350 on my SAT, a decent essay, and a grossly disproportionate GPA, given my slacker lifestyle, that was heavily weighted due to several AP classes

If you think you want to go here don't. All I have to say is that Greg Cross goes here and he is a hellraiser! You will be lucky to stay alive if you go here with him.

I had a 3.8 GPA and a 30 ACT score. I did two varsity sports in high school and had very little extra curricular outside of sports and very little volunteer hours. I had great letters of recommendation. I was also accepted to the honors program.

For this department (Architecture), take lots of art courses. Also, honors and AP classes have definitely helped me.
