Tips mention:
Interview (0),
ACT/SAT (26),
Grades (11),
Sports (6),
Essay (4) | I got in with a 32 ACT, 4.0 GPA, and also into the honors program, but this year they have made that a lot harder. I did two sports, and a few extracurriculars in high school. I think the University itself is not too hard to get into, but the honors program is a lot harder now. I had a 3.8 GPA and a 30 ACT score. I did two varsity sports in high school and had very little extra curricular outside of sports and very little volunteer hours. I had great letters of recommendation. I was also accepted to the honors program.
Honestly, all you have to do is join a club or sport in high school and get average grades. Miami got this reputation of being a "public ivy" in the '80s (that's right, over 20 years ago)and its discouraged people from applying. But you wouldn't believe how many idiots go to school here. I read online Miami accepts over 70% of its applicants, so you could even get a few C's (maybe even a D) and get in. Not so sure about test scores though, but most of the students here are about average. Physical Therapy/Exercise Science
| Dec 04 2005 | To get into miami i worked hard in high school and studied a little for the SAT. i also participated in two varsity sports for all four years, and served as captain for both. As well as doing general community service. Miami likes its students to be well rounded. My ACTs were a little below average as well as my SATs but the extra stuff made up for it. Just try to be balanced |
