Communications | Jul 17 2012 | Getting into NYU, was not too difficult for me. However, I did hear horror stories of people applying numerous times and still not getting in. Sometimes, it works instantly and for others, they are never accepted at all. Look, NYU looks for certain key elements from an applicant: SPUNK, PERSONALITY, AND UNIQUENESS. It's great if you have spectacular grades to go along with it, but they want you to show them what YOU can bring to the school. At the end of the day, the student body is what CREATES the character of the school. First thing you think of when one thinks of NYU: Diversity, Academics, Artists, Wildly Creative people. Funny, charming, etc. You need to capture that part of yourself and show that to them. It is not rocket science at all, folks!
I got good grades and had a lot of extracurricular activities. Really, I feel like NYU college of nursing takes most people who are willing to pay. They have expanded their enrollment (though their facilities and staff have not so we just get terrible value for our millions and millions of dollars while they "prepare" for the future we will never reap benefits from).
