Gallatin: Above 1300 on your SAT's MINIMUM. Also, your essays should show how you can handle creating your own program of study, your individualism, and your varying interests. Don't just say you're undecided.
I took a class in creative writing at Columbia and had my professor over the summer look over my portfolio of Dramatic Writing over the summer before I applied in the fall. My suggestion is if you're applying to Tisch and you know some one very knowledgable in the area you want to study have them look over what you're going to use to get in. Also a word of advice from an admission counselor, don't be afraid to perform something or include something that you would be afraid to show your parents. As for grades you can not expect a good portfolio to make up for lacking grades. Equal emphasis is based on both so make you're strong artistically and academically.
