It's good to get involved with things related to your major. I'll probably do that this coming quarter since I just switched my major. I was involved in crew club but it required too much time and money for me to afford. I recommend sports intramurals, unless you are already committed to a major sport or activity. There is also a ton of religious organizations, but I’m in a Christian group and I regularly attend Real Life. Every quarter this is an activity fair that I recommend you to attend, it helps you find a group, activity, or club of interest.

OSU is super easy to get into. If you can't get into OSU you probably shouldn't be going to college. I believe you need a 2.0 GPA and a decent ACT score.

I got a decent ACT score and took AP courses in high school. I wrote an essay and was admitted to the Bio scholars program (what a joke! The biology scholars coordinator is a fundamentalist Christan (he proests Harry Potter books) who only grants opportunities to good ol' boys. I was an out of state student and was offered a $4,500 a year scholarship. The cost was still incredible nonetheless. I don't think it is difficult to get into this school if you did okay in HS.

I filled out the application in twenty minutes online back in September of my last year of high school. Then I spent ten minutes writing the two essays and I didn't bother to get them proofread. However, I did do the stereotypical sob-story of my father dying along with a creative essay that stood out. The best thing to do is to have a well-balanced life with decent to excellent grades. I was the last person in the top 10% of my small school, but I had several clubs and drama presentations that I helped to direct. Then my senior year I also worked 30 hours on top of attending both high school and university.

I made straight A's in high school and did well on my standardized tests.

I skated through highschool... doing just enough to get into either OSU or OU... I had no intentions of paying out-of-state tuition. There has been some talk about how they're making it harder to get in however, so it would of your best interest to get a decent GPA and to not get wasted the night before your SAT or ACT exam.
