Very competitive to get in. Pretty much great academic record and great extracurricular record. spend a lot of time on your essay and focus on something that makes you unique from the rest.

Getting in is of course tough. Years ago if you applied Early Decision you had a stronger chance of going, as Pomona had a reputation as the school that Stanford rejects went (that stigma probably still exists), and they wished to fill out a nice class beforehand. Pomona values diversity in activities and experience, as well as strong educational background. From what I can get out of Pomona, it attracts genius level talents who sometimes end up as loners or in small groups, as well as the class presidents and other more popular and smart types. Then there are the people in between.

I recommend that you work hard on your extracurriculars, do well in class and take a strong courseload in high school. Pomona likes scholars.
