Good scores, good essays. I'd say with Pomona, writing a good, interesting essay can really pay off. Of course, if your grades are lousy and stuff...then you'd better have some kind of interesting/notable special thingamabob.
I recommend scheduling an interview and showing the admissions staff who you are as a person, what you are passionate about, and what drives you in life!
