PSU needs to update the pictures on their ElectronicsJun 24 2015Electrical Engineering
PSU needs to update the pictures on their Electronics web page. The photos make it look like the students just sit in labs with scopes building bread board circuits, when in reality most of the time is spent in the classroom with engineering textbooks, lecture, and test taking.

Getting into Pitt State was a breeze! Admission requirementsJul 14 2010Unknown
Getting into Pitt State was a breeze! Admission requirements are minimal. I transferred from a large university, and the process was simple. The financial aid department was also very helpful. Before the semester, visit financial aid, and you will walk out with all of your questions answered, provided you have already completed the FAFSA. From past experience, other universities, more specifically their financial aid department, are no where near as competent. Once you are admitted, a student can view his or her transcripts, declare a major and minor, view degree requirements, and pay tuition online. Students can even order textbooks online based on their class schedule! It is as simple as clicking on the "order books" button on each students individual online account. There are very few "mysteries" in the whole process at Pitt State. Also, parking permits are part of the student fees, which makes finding a parking space before class a snap! Do not assume that this is the case at other universities! At the "big school" I transferred from, parking permits were several hundred dollars ON TOP of all student fees. Even worse, there was very little parking. The hardest part of earning a degree should be the classes, homework, and exams, NOT the bureaucracy that weighs down other institutions. Pitt State, as a whole, understands this concept, which is of incredible value to me.

Get involved in atleast one or two clubsNov 10 2003Education
Get involved in atleast one or two clubs. Student Activities Council is good and so is Chi Alpha. Just put forth an effort and try. Sitting on your butt will not get you involved or anywhere at college.
