Make sure you have a high GPA and ACT/SAT. EC's don't seem to matter much to them nor do teacher recommendations. Being out of state, admissions tend to be harder by a decent margin compared to the in-state students.

Its not that hard to get in, but surviving the weed out classes and not switching to a dumbed down version on your major is a little tougher.

To gain admittance to Purdue University, they only require standardized test scores and a high school transcript. However, by the urging of my high school counselor, I submitted two or three letters of recommendation. Also, i sent in my application as early as possible, to better ensure that I would get accepted.

I was accepted everywhere on full rides because I did very well all my academic life. Purdue sucked the intelligence right out of me.
