I was a transfer, its an Amazing school. however if you are into the fine arts go to MICA, their painting department is far superior to RISD's

I'm changing to illustration as soon as I can.

Professors are not that accessible in my limited experience here

To get in we had to do several drawings and of course your grades and your unique style have a lot to do with getting in . They love diversity at this school. Requirement

Getting into this prestigious school seems to be slightly easier now, especially if you are applying as a freshman. Do take drawing classes, art classes, design classes, painting classes or such prior to applying. That should strengthen your basics.

If you are applying as a transfer student, be sure to have a considerable body of work related to the major that you want to go into be it in technical or conceptual.

I dunno- I just put some still lifes into my portfolio and I got in. It's supposed to be really competitive, but the two other people I know who got in both cheated by copying all of their drawing work and never got caught, so it can't be all that difficult.

Work really hard and draw a good bicycle.
Enthusiasm, excitability. If you don't love
art, then you probably shouldn't be here.
