If you want to study at Rose-Hulman Institute ofFeb 17 2016Computer Science
If you want to study at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, you should study hard in high school. It would be helpful to know what area of engineering, math, or science interests you before attending, but that is not something that you need to know when you apply.

Be sure to make yourself stand out in the essays you write or interviews you have with students or faculty. There are plenty of opportunities to visit the school or communicate with students and faculty, and all in all, the people that you meet will be very bright and interested. The school is very much interested in recruiting the best talent in the state and country.

The admissions department has the official stance that a minimum SAT score of 500 Reading and 550 Math or ACT score of 21 English and 24 Math is necessary to apply. There is also an expectation of having a high level of math education before attending. Besides remedial courses, calculus is the lowest level of math taught, and fast-track calculus is also offered as a summer program before freshman year to begin with differential equations and higher math during the year.

Overall, be yourself and work hard. If you're struggling to meet the minimum requirements, try to demonstrate working knowledge of engineering by discussing projects you've completed in your application essays and make an appeal to the department faculty for your degree program.

Just keep up a good GPA and do well on your SATs. Right now it is pretty easy to get in although I expect that to change within the next decade.

Getting in is not very competitiveApr 11 2013Mechanical Engineering
Getting in is not very competitive. Some of the kids here are engineering majors who have difficulty with basic calculus and basic physics. Rose gives you a good education via rigorous and constant workloads.
ACT: 35 Male
Getting in is fairly easyNov 29 2011Chemical Engineering
Getting in is fairly easy... but it takes dedication to stay in. Everyone will be rooting for you, but you will have to put in hard work.
It is easy to apply, and you might get some decent aid from Rose. They throw a good deal of scholarship money around for no particular reason.
