The Rochester Institute of Technology - How to Get into Undergraduate RIT
</a>
I did well in high school and graduated with honors, participated in a lot of extra curricular activities and obtained leadership positions, did over 100 hours of community service in the National Honor Society, and took advantage of many opportunities to ensure good test scores. I took both the ACT and the SAT. I also used the Common App to cut down on time. Lastly, I had multiple people review my essays and personal statements.
I used the common app and chose to write my own essay, which I wrote on myself and why I'd be a good applicant. It wasn't anything spectacular but I heavily emphasized what I did outside the classroom that was directly related to the major I was pursuing.
It's easy to get in because they really want to let YOU specifically in. They want people who are actively persuing their passion and who are putting the effort in to look for the best school to get a degree in that field. Just remember, RIT is notorious for being easy to get in but hard to stay in.
