If you have a 0.0 GPA and can breathe, Radford will accept you. Even the freshman who fail out are re-accepted.

I had a 3.39 GPA and a 1730 SAT score (1150 with just Critical Reading and Math) I applied Early Action because my high school was doing on-site admissions. I had very good Extra Curriculars and such. I just found out I got in today. Radford is my safety school considering my GPA has gone up, but since it was Early Action they only saw up to junior year. I had pretty bad grades junior year (mostly C pluses, a couple B pluses, one A, and one D plus) which made my average drop. But I am in all AP/ Honors courses and my bad grades were in math classes and I'm an English major so the admissions officer said the bad grades in math weren't that important.

I'd say if you are preparing to apply, take advanced classes, maintain good grades, and go for good SAT scores. Radford is not a hard school to get into and although I saw some kids get in with GPAs in the 2.0s, you still should keep your grades up because you'll be elligible for merit based scholarships.

Strong math, science, and study skills.

You may want to consider volunteering at the local rescue squad and becoming an EMT-B. This will give you good skills with building your bedside manner as well as assessment skills (not to mention managing emergency situations).

Never compromise your grades for extracurricular activity.

You need to be a serious student to get into the BSN program. I have a previous degree in Biology from VCU and it was not as intense as this program (including classes such as Calculus, various Chemistry courses as well Physics courses). Your social life dramatically diminishes the further you progress through the program. You need to prepare to spend much of your time studying, doing group work, preparing for clinicals, exams, and of course the NCLEX-RN.

Greek Life. I joined a fraternity but it wasnt for the girls or the parties. The sorrorities here are big and some are snobby, but others are very nice ladies. Same with frats; you have nice guys where you can find brotherhood, and you have douche bags who just want to get drunk and get laid. "GDI materal" God damn independent.
