Undergraduate requirements are not very selective. If you have decent SAT scores, good High School GPA, and an OK essay - you'll be fine. Graduate programs, on the other hand, are MUCH harder. Do not expect to get in to SCSU's Graduate School with a mediocre GPA or a less-than enthusiastic outlook on learning.

I think Southern would accept anyone...

I had high honors in high school, although only had average SAT scores (due to not studying for them at all, regrettably). I had done community service and volunteering, and had a GPA of 3.5 from my previous transfer transcript.

Southern used to accept more people, but as of lately, they have become a lot more selective. I recommend you have at LEAST a 3.0 to 3.5 GPA. For the class of 2012, only about 20-something percent of students got accepted. Don't be discouraged, but just try your best!
