Nothing special was needed to get in. I think they accept everyone. It's just a money school; as long as you can pay, they'll accept you.

The apparently high acceptance persentage is due in many ways to the fact that most students who apply really want to go here. Be sincere and communicate your interest in the place. Just about any person who wises to attend SJU can get in, but that makes the experience all the more worthwhile.

Have good grades (not great needed), be active outside of the classroom (most important) and do some community service.

I had great grades (3.9 high school GPA) and high SAT scores (1970). Good grades and SAT scores longer necessary to get in, however. As evidenced by the 92% expected acceptance rate for the class of 2018, the university only cares if you can cough up 50k a year. Don't have the credentials? No problem.
