As long as you are full pay you shouldn't have much of a problem. They are always asking parents for money even though this school is waaaay overpriced!
I did not have the chance to talk to anyone from Skidmore before applying. I went to the school website and read about it from sites like Students review or Unigo.
I really like Business and mentioned it in my application showing how my interest matched with the school.
Prospective students should show the college that their interests matched with the college and that they are capable of succeeding in their areas.
The essay and interview are more important into getting in here than the bigger universities you see. Really try to be personable and present yourself how you are, do not try to make yourself into anything that you are not. This is a place full of students who want to do great things and are very driven in what they are studying, you dont need to be interested in a particular study but it helps to know what you are passionate about when applying.
