My interview and essays were pretty good if I do say so myself, but based on the writing and conversation skills of some individuals on campus, they probably did not have to be. Avoid doing anything that would immediately get you rejected from any school. Just fill out the application, write the essay, do the interview, and don't make them think you are a danger to yourself or others.

It's pretty easy to get in. The Rock is very self-selecting. Generally, only academically motivated kids who would be a good fit apply, though thre are always exceptions.

You will write an essay and do an interview. Just be yourself, and don't be afraid to go out on a limb or write in a way that would be unacceptable at your high school. The Rock wants super-curious, gutsy, fiercely intelligent people and you should prove that to them. The Rock is all about thinking outside the box.

Don't do it. And answer honestly in the interview.

Admissions changes every so often, and already what i had to do has been outmoded by a new application...I did the Plato "Cave" essay, and 2 others. Best advice, get good recommendations, have a tour (preferably not one of the generic Discovery Days), and do an interview (i recommend in person, but many people that live far away have had great interviews over the phone as of late)
