Essay (15) | Communications | Feb 07 2011 | Prospective Newhouse students need a high GPA (above a 3.4, around a 3.5-3.6) and experience helps. Get the best recommendations possible, get involved in clubs and sports and put a lot of effort into the essay. Most of all, sell yourself to this school if you want to get into it. Tell admissions how you will add to the diversity and culture of this university and how they will benefit from having you here. Self-selective school. Be sre to have the grades and a kick-ass essay. Work your ass off in high school. The school is self-selective which mean sthe majority of the applicant pool is already qualified to attend so you must make sure you have the grades and test scores to put yourself through the first round of the application process. Essays, recommendations, achievements and extra-curricular will then come into play. I had really high SAT scores and a really good GPA. Around ~3.7 I highhly suggest requesting an interview and let the University know you and how the school will benefit you. Show them that an invest in you will be an investment in themselves. Everyone here is truly motivated and it is in your best interest to show them that you can fit that pack. And that is through test scores, GPA, recommendations, essays, accomplishments etc. |
