I think SU looks for well-rounded students over gradesJan 17 2010Civil Engineering
I think SU looks for well-rounded students over grades or SATs. A lot of people I know who went/go to SU bombed the SATs, and most students fall in the B range in terms of academics. Try to get involved with extracurriculars, but still keep your grades up to par. Don't be too pressured; SU isn't the hardest school to get into. If you're nervous that you can't get into SU's harder colleges (like Newhouse, for example), apply to Arts & Sciences, then transfer into your desired college after a year. SO many students do this.
ACT: 32 Female
Work your ass off in high schoolJan 16 2010Journalism
Work your ass off in high school. The school is self-selective which mean sthe majority of the applicant pool is already qualified to attend so you must make sure you have the grades and test scores to put yourself through the first round of the application process. Essays, recommendations, achievements and extra-curricular will then come into play.
SAT: 1380 Female
Be prepared to work your butte off! Take asJan 12 2010Architecture
Be prepared to work your butte off! Take as many APs and IBs as possible! If you're going into Architecture, please be aware that this program is exclusive and only wants the best, brightest and most hard-working.
I had really high SAT scores and a really good GPADec 30 2009Economics
I had really high SAT scores and a really good GPA. Around ~3.7 I highhly suggest requesting an interview and let the University know you and how the school will benefit you. Show them that an invest in you will be an investment in themselves. Everyone here is truly motivated and it is in your best interest to show them that you can fit that pack. And that is through test scores, GPA, recommendations, essays, accomplishments etc.
If you consider to go Syracuse University and toDec 08 2009Physics
If you consider to go Syracuse University and to think about physics major, please think about it. Your future may be destroyed by the professors who have unprofessional behaviors. I do not recommend to choose physics major.
