I didn't do anything special to get in, although I did transfer from another college. My GPA was a 3.7, I do know UB generally turns down GPA's under 3.0. I also think it has a lot to do with your major as to whether you'll be accepted.
I personally would not recommend this college, it may be a cheap college, but UB is deeply rooted in research and extremely dependent on students bringing research money their way. That's really all UB cares about... money, any way they can get it!!!
I opened the door. I got a 92 average in high school and a 1250 SAT. My dad forced me in because it was cheap and the school gave me a scholarship making a lousy, cheap school even cheaper. Don't go there if you have any other choice. If you do want to go there it helps to be a NY resident. Other than that just keep an 80 or 85 average and do average on the SATs.
i had good grades but that means nothing now since i dont care. you dont have to work that hard just bring your laptop to class and play grand theft auto and you'll pass.
