I got really good grades, played sports, and kicked butt on the ACT. When you are out of state, it is hard to get into a university without good grades and some extracurricular activities. I would definitly find out about scholarship opportunities. I missed the deadline for them, when I knew I could have gotten one. What I will say is that A&M is very poor at providing their out of state students with information including opportunities such as scholarships, so you are going to have to do the work yourself. Good luck!

Did really, really well in school and on my SATs. A&M has a waiting list to get in, so you either have to do well on your tests, join the Corps, or fight your way into the Gateway program. A&M has strict guidelines, and unlike many public universities, only allow in the very best people into the university. The ones that got in by mistake are quickly washed out by the courseload.

If you live in Texas, strive to get inJun 16 2003Computer Engineering
If you live in Texas, strive to get in with the top 10% rule (or is it 25% now?), and even if you dont make top 10 or 25 percent, being close will definitly get you in. We have a big campus so we have plenty of room for new students. Score well on your SAT,GPA, and have at least one or two extra curricular activities in high school and you should be fine. If you dont get accepted right away just try again later after some college.
ACT: 22 SAT: 1180 Male
I would get a good write a good essayJan 31 2003Other
I would get a good write a good essay or get a high SAT score if you are not in the top ten perecent. If you are you are a lock. A good recomendation might help.
