Accounting
As with applying to any Unversity, you should apply early and try to make the best ACT or SAT scores you can. Look for scholarships provided by the University and otherwise because they will help. Keep your grades up in high school. Make at least one faculty member at the University your permanent contact that you turn to for help (preferably in the Admissions Office; always get the name of the person you are talking to). And if you do not get accepted but really want to come here, contact everyone you can to see if they can help you, especially your "permanent contact person" whom hopefully, will have a pretty important position.
Fine Arts - Painting/Sculpture/Photography/etc
Visited; applied. My act score qualified me. If you score over a 21 and don't have issues from high school, you can usually get in now, they are trying to grow. Not too difficult. use the web ap, it's fast. If you were a grind and scored high on the act, you can get some pretty amazing scholarships. they value academics above all else--to bad i'm more of a creative genius, not a scholar. i'm not into sports, but what you hear about it being a sporst school is kind of true--people ehre are crazed about the razorbacks. but even atheletes are expected to graduate.
Music Education
I went to Springdale High School one town away and participated in all things music. My ACT is ok at 28, but my achievements in music during high school helped me to secure enough scholarship to come to the U of A.
Other
I didn't do much. As I was a resident of the state already and had good marks, they practically laid the mat at my feet. I do recommend that you strive as much as you possibly can for a high ACT/SAT score -- it'll make the difference between abject poverty and good living.
| Geography and Geosciences
I thought it would be a little more difficult, but my high school record was perfect and my test scores high. That is what I recommend for others--really work hard on your GPA and the ACT. The university doesn't have the high and exclusive standards of an Ivy League school, but good grades will NEVER work against you.
Geography and Geosciences
Considering the enormous number of imbeciles here, it shouldn't be hard. Have an ACT of over 21 and you're in like flynn.
Engineering Department
Graduated with honors in High school and scored high on ACT.
Finance
If you make at least 30 on ACT you'll get decent scholarships but do not just depend on that. Apply to local scholarships, community, church, etc. University does give out some scholarships but not the best at at.
