You pretty much just have to be able to breathe to get into UC for Arts & Sciences. It's not a very selective school. Getting into DAAP or CCM is much tougher. I believe the average ACT for a DAAP student is around a 29. Average GPA is 3.6 on a 4 point scale. I got in with a 32 ACT and 3.71 GPA. I didn't have many extracurriculars either. Some DAAP majors require portfolios, but architecture does not. However, I strongly recommend that you take a drawing course before starting if you're in architecture.

It's easy to get in to UC. It seems like they let most people in bc they want your money. However, the grad rate is not great bc of this which means a lot of people waste a lot of money, grant money and govt loan money attending for several years just to have to retake classes several times bc they really shouldn't have been admitted in the first place. They really only seem to care about money. I would think about this before applying for a difficult major, such an engineering. They might let you in but not necessarily bc they think you'll succeed.

The scope of this school has changed since they let me in. It was much easier in 2004 than it is today. That's because the demand for this university is skyrocketing.
