You pretty much just have to be able to breathe to get into UC for Arts & Sciences. It's not a very selective school. Getting into DAAP or CCM is much tougher. I believe the average ACT for a DAAP student is around a 29. Average GPA is 3.6 on a 4 point scale. I got in with a 32 ACT and 3.71 GPA. I didn't have many extracurriculars either. Some DAAP majors require portfolios, but architecture does not. However, I strongly recommend that you take a drawing course before starting if you're in architecture.
Be involved in extra-curricular activities and DON'T underestimate the college curriculum. As I stated earlier, it is not a joke school as many perceive.
I nearly didn't get into UC. I had a 23 ACT score and 1130 SAT, which is pretty strong, but I only had a 2.5 GPA in high school. They accepted me into their Business school but not Arts and Sciences out of high school.
