| | Very good grades and test scores will only get your foot in the door. Genuine extracurricular activities which capitalize on your strengths will help you stand out. Demonstrating that you will be able to take a hold of your education through hard work, determination, and leadership is essential. Finally, realize that UCLA HIGHLY values diversity, be sure to demonstrate how you would add to or improve the diversity at the school. Be a well rounded student. If you can rate your involvement/success at 80% in at least 4 of the following areas you're a good candidate:
Get a high SAT/ACT scores to buff less than ideal GPAs, take a lot of APs and Honors classes, and get involved!
Write an honest well-written personal statement. Make sure to get it reviewed by teachers, counselors, etc.
