| | I transferred and had good grades...but dont worry, you dont need good grades for ucsb.... In order to get in, you have to be very well-rounded. Maintain good grades - I believe the average GPA is a 3.9, get involved in high school (including getting awards), and take a few challenging courses. Also, I recommend taking both the ACT and the SATs (with a decent score) as well as 3 of the SAT's subject tests. Above all, write the best personal statement you can!!! Excellent grades, AP classes, and extracurriculars. I got good grades and wrote a good couple essays.
