The University of California Santa Barbara - How to Get into Undergraduate UCSB
</a>
In order to get in, you have to be very well-rounded. Maintain good grades - I believe the average GPA is a 3.9, get involved in high school (including getting awards), and take a few challenging courses. Also, I recommend taking both the ACT and the SATs (with a decent score) as well as 3 of the SAT's subject tests. Above all, write the best personal statement you can!!!
I took challenging AP classes at my high school which was a small catholic prep school. I took and re-took my ACTs and SATs. I recommend dedicating yourself to a few extracurricular activities you truly enjoy and being authentic on your application.
Do WELL in HS(good GPA) it is getting increasinly harder to get in here. Do at least average on your SAT's and present a compelling aplication with amazing essay's, they realy look at those. If you dont get in originally, appeal, i know aot of people that got in on an appeal. You MUST present new information or else you are wasting your time and theirs.
