Essay (11) |
I just filled out an application and wrote some essays. Its getting harder and harder to get in. My advice is to not screw over high school and work hard so that you can put good stuff on your application.

I had a 2.9999 GPA and an 1110 SAT score and i got into this school last year. I didnt have any extracurricular activities either. I just wrote a long essay saying how much i wanted to go to the school. If u really want to come to the school make sure u let them know that.Visit the campus mention names of professors and if an admissions officer comes to your school talk with the person and let them get to know u. I also mentioned my job that i had and got a great letter of recommendation from my employer. The admissions standards arnt really as high as they say alot of people i know that go here had similiar grades and SAT's too me. Grades and SAT's arnt everything, i had some of the lowest SAT's and highschool GPA but first semester at Delaware i was in the top 20 percent of my class. People with 4.0's and 1300's do fail out, my first semester roomate haha.

| Apr 08 2004 | Don't slack off senior year--UDel really keeps up with its admitted students. Extracurricular activities helped for me, as did community service. Take the SATs and school work seriously, and take advantage of the essays on the applications. They allow for a lot of creativity, and there are a lot of opportunities to interject your personality and facts about yourself. Had to write an essay, and have good grades. Study for your SAT's, they really look at that. make sure you get good letters of recommendation.
