Getting into KU was incredibly easy. I applied and literally the next day they accepted me. I think the main requirement was a 21 on the ACT, which I easily achieved. I do worry about the graduation and retention rates. KU needs to work on that. Many of my friends are taking a "victory lap" or plan to transfer to an easier, more specialized university. That is a downfall of the university and something I hope they continue to work on.

I recommend to high school students that want to become undergrads at KU that you get a 21 on the ACT, make decent grades, and show a broad range of interests. Being a student and nothing else does not make a strong applicant. I, for one, participated in several student clubs and sports and easily got into KU.

For graduate students, it really depends on the field.
