| | I had a 3.2 in high school (really awful grades freshman/sophomore year, and a C in English [my prospective major] junior year, but honor roll all throughout senior year)...460 on math, 560 on English and 680 on writing on the SAT...I did a few extracurriculars... I was nervous that I wouldn't get in but clearly I did. I don't think it's as hard as one would think, considering the size of the student body population. If you want to get into this college, I strongly advise good grades, and high SAT scores. I am pretty sure that this is what they look at most, and also work credentials and extracurriculars. All i know is, I didn't do many extracurriculars in high school and I applied Early Action to Umass and got in.
This is an easy University to get into. Just put a little care into filling out your application. Grades to get in are like C's so the average student has a very good chance of getting into the school.
Honestly, I can't even believe they let me in with my grades, but I ded better at UMass than in high school because I applied myself. If you need personal attention and smaller classes...forget it...you should have excellent study habits if you go here...very large lecture classes in your first 3 or 4 semesters.
