I actually used University of Michigan as my safetyApr 16 2008Undecided
I actually used University of Michigan as my I got into the honors college 2.5 weeks after I applied in the fall. I had a 2230 SAT, 4.0 GPA, leadership positions and awards and stuff (no sports, however). I was out of state, so when I told people that it was my safety, THEY GOT MAD!!! After more research, I found my former arrogance to be invalid. This a great university with amazing resources. I suggest you work hard in high school, do well on your sat's, especially since it's getting harder and harder to get into...

It was so easy to get inApr 04 2008Undecided
It was so easy to get in. Its all about numbers, they do not care about anything else. The University Honors college actively recruits out-of-staters, and it is easy to get in if you are remotely qualified.
SAT: 1440 Female

As an out-of-state student, getting accepted to the UniversityAug 18 2007Architecture & Urban Planning Department
As an out-of-state student, getting accepted to the University of Michigan can be some-what of a challenge. I would consider my SAT scores only marginally above average, however in addition, I graduated within the top 2% of my h.s. senior class, had a large number of AP classes/credits, took part in many extra-curricular activities, was a member of the NHS and several other extra-curricular activities (including president of a club), and had taken part in a good deal volunteer work within my community.
SAT: 1920 Male
