Tips mention:
Interview (0),
ACT/SAT (60),
Grades (31),
Sports (6),
Essay (34) | Hmm...for the essay, write something original. That means, don't write about how your mom read to you when you were a kid (LSA hopefuls) or about how you played with legos (for all you aspiring engineers.) Computer Science | Jul 25 2005 | Don't spend too much time on the entrance essay - it's only worth about 2% of getting into Michigan. GPA is the most important criterion - do well in your classes especially sophomore and junior year.
Business - Management and Administration
| May 16 2005 | I had a great SAT score but mediocre GPA. It was my essay that got me in, no doubt. It treaded the boundary between emotion and cliche, but I think it turned out well. I worked very very hard in high school, and was accepted after being wait-listed with a 3.7 GPA, a 31 ACT, a great essay, and a fair amount of EC activities. It is very hard to get in, I had friends with 4.0's that were team captains that didn't get in. Work hard in high school and study hard for your ACT/SAT's, take them many times. |
