Work hard. GPA probably more important than SATs. But you need to have a decent SAT score too, or you may have to go to the summer prep program.

Not much. I wish Umass would select out at least some of the idiots that get let in the school. Usually those get weeded out after into classes though. Just hang in there.

If you get into the university, do the national student exchange and go to another university.
If you want to go to a real college, stay in a dorm, have social life, have FUN, be an individual, challeng yourself, UMB is not the place to do it so you need to exchange or study abroad as much as possible until you transfer.

UMass Boston is currently trying to increase its enrolment so I would say most people have a pretty good chance of gaining admission…just make sure your ready because you don’t want to waste your money if your not prepared.
