If you REALLY want to attend this school, gain residency first so that you don't have to pay the out-of-state tuition. The in-state tuition is a rip-off.
If you're a foreign student--- even a non-humanities student-- go somewhere else. I am an American and I was treated like an enemy foreigner.Foreign students don't seem to get much better treatment. I know a LOT of foreign UNCC students. Most are angry and disillusioned.
I applied for admission and applied for a scholarship and four months later I was accepted and granted a full scholarship. (The fact that I lived out-of-state and came from a nationally acclaimed school system was a help). My advice: if you are offered a scholarship by UNCC for anything in the humanities, RUN.
I applied and I was accepted. I could have gotten a scholarship elsewhere, but i wanted to stay in the city where I lived all my life. WHAT A BIG MISTAKE.
