The process was way too hard, the systems set up at UNLV are terrible and they need to be redesigned for maximum efficiency and usability.

Do the best you can on your GPA / SAT / ACT. UNLV gradually has been increasing acceptance standards since it is gaining so many more applicants every year. (Las Vegas has grown exponentially until recently.) If going for the law school you have to nail that LSAT. They are damn picky. If local, go to CSN. It is cheaper and 100% transferable.

I was a high school drop out. I went to the community college for 2 semesters, I never took sat/act but I did have a pulse so they let me in.

I would recommend staying AWAY from sororities and fraternities, they have have a few very serious problems just since I have been here. If there is a group corresponding to your major I would recommend getting involved in that.
