I submitted the application with a decent essay. I speculate that as long as you're not a total dud, you'll get in without a problem. The great thing about UTSA is that a small portion of its student population isn't snotty. In fact, the students are quite amiable.

I've known D average students accepted by UTSA. It doesn't matter, though. Once they see how everyone else is motivated to succeed, they, in turn, strive to do well academically.

UTSA is basically a community college, if you take the SAT and graduate they will accept you.

The school has historically accepted all applicants, but has raised admission standards annually for the past 2 school years. Students with lower ACT/SAT scores are no longer accepted as the school attempts to raised graduation rates. The school plans to continue with tighter admission standards as it moves towards tier 1 status.

It is pretty easy to get in here. I volunteered at a hospital, and did a lot of extra curricular activities. I wanted to go out of state , but it was too much so i went here.
I know some kids that made a 2.7 in HS and still got in.
