Feb 04 2014Neuroscience/Cognitive Science I had decent grades and an okay SAT score. Lots of ECs and leadership. They pay attention to extra-curriculars and and ambition more. Have an entrepreneurial spirit!
ACT: 30 SAT: 1370 Female
Jan 12 2014Chemistry This school searches for academically strong students (3.75+ gpa and 1950+ SAT). But don't let this deter you from applying. They like to see leadership, strong motivation, ambition, determination. These characteristics really stand out in the students here and help make this school "ever better."
Feb 17 2013Computer Science Get great grades
Take a lot of extra curriculars
SAT: 1950 Male
Sep 02 2011Mechanical Engineering I had an interview which I think helped a lot. Basically though you need to be an amazing person. Rochester likes accepting people that enrich the community and the overall intellectual capacity of the student body. If you are arrogant, self-centered, and close minded this isn't a school for you. If it is the school for you, Rochester will accept you, even if you SAT scores werent great, your GPA wasnt amazing, and you werent in the top 50% of your class. (A lot of smart kids with poor work ethic come here and the university teaches you a better way to get work done and still have fun)
ACT: 29 SAT: 1950 Male
Jan 31 2011Other Don't even bother applying. I busted my ass on my application thinking this was a hard school to get into. If you make the mistake of applying, and then compound that mistake by actually enrolling, you're going to find yourself with a lot of people who can do integrals but can't form a coherent sentence.
