As with any top-tiered university be involved in different activities in high school. I had a less than B average from a reputed private school, but I also had top notch extra-curricular credentials in school and outside.
I went to a non-boarding prep school. I took the most challenging courses, and did "okay." I was always an enthusiastic student yet my work ethic was just plain bad. I did fairly well on my SATs. I did not apply early decision.
