Essay (25) | Good luck to out of staters. I'm surprised I even got in, and thats with tons of AP credit, an excellent GPA, tons of extracurriculurs, etc. etc. Be the best you can, and try your luck! Aerospace Engineering | Aug 21 2004 | I was a leader in my community and school. Although my SATs were lacking (barely 1200), my super high GPA and A+s in many subjects (wasn't easy!) Helped ALOT. Also, write some GOOD essays and be creative.- although, if you're coming here for engineering, forget it and go to VT. It's not worth it here.. Political Science
| Jul 03 2004 | In-state you're going to need to be taking the most rigorous program at your high school and be getting excellent grades. To get in from out-of-state, you're going to need Ivy League stats... even then it's a crap-shoot.
Be in state and you can do whatever you want in high school. Also, GPA matters more than SATs around here too. So don't expect the smartest or most brilliant people, just the ones who can get lots of work done and stay organized. Also, don't try to hard on the essays, seriously. They know when you are trying to hard and when you are being completely genuine. I've talked to them. |
