| UW says: |
reason we do not provide avg test score or GPA
statistics to this website or any other is that students
often think of these as minimums. Although a large
public flagship university with over 15,000 applicants each fall, the
UW prides itself in using required essays and other additional
information in a comprehensive review process that allows to consider
students much like a typical small college might. No,
we can't admit everyone, but we admit a lot of
students with great potential, not just great transcripts. "

I kept straight A's in high school, got very high standardized test scores, and was active in many different academic honor societies and community service/leadership organizations. I was active in the Scouting program and did approximately 20 hours a week of volunteer work for various charities and my church throughout high school.
Though I was involved in many extracurricular activities, it seems like UW cares more about numbers than the student as a whole, so make sure your test scores and grades are as high as possible. Minority status definitely boosts admission potential as well.
I was in multiple extra-curriculars. I had fairly decent grades and great test scores.
