Because I was late in making the decision to go to school, I was late in getting my financial aid paperwork.
As soon as you make the decision to attend college, any college, you need to contact the Financial Aid Department and "get the ball rolling" on all your paperwork. Even if you don't plan to apply for grants or loans, any scholarship money you receive must go through the Financial Aid Office. It really pays off if the people in that office know who you. They can be such a help! Sandy Conkling was there when I was at VRJC and she was an angel to ALL of us!
