If you went to a private highschool, you are almost guaranteed acceptance (I never heard of anyone from mine ever getting rejected). I think being on National Honor Society in highschool also helps a lot, and gets you instant Financial Aid money (at least it did when I went there). You will need it, because this school is expensive! That said, if you can afford to NOT use financial aid, you probably have a good chance of getting in as well.

If you are a male, a minority, from outside the east coat, attended a top private high school, or are just plain rich, you should have no problem. If you are a girl from the midatlantic region, shoot for 1200+ SAT and a GPA of 3.5+. Interviewing helps. So does talent in a sport of extra curricular, particularly writing. Do anything you can to join nhs in high school because then you will automatically receive 10k per year in scholarship, given that you keep up a 3.0. With SATS in the 1300 range, a weighted GPA of ~98/100, ranked 7/120, 3 varsity sports (though no desire to continue on in college), NHS, and a few local writing awards, I was accepted early action with a total of about 80k in scholarship money.

Lots of community service/athletic activity and a nice gpa are for the most part required. I visited WAC twice, once for a tour and once for an overnight stay. I found that anywhere I apply will have the academics I need, the social aspect is most important.

I applied regular admission, and made sure to write a really well thought out essay. I encourage students who really want to get into Washington College to apply early admission because it really makes a difference in the selection process.

I visited campus my senior year of high school for a creative writing workshop. That visit is what convinced me that this was my college. I definitely think visits are a good idea. Also, scheduling an interview can be quite helpful because the admissions staff not only gets to know you, but they can also answer any questions you may have.

The admissions process is not a terribly hard barrier to penetrate. Odds are, if you write coherently and especially if you belong to NHS, you're going to get in. And if you are a member of NHS, they give you 40,000 (yes, it is supposed to be four zeros) automatically.

Two thirds of the people that go here were in a marching band at some point during their high school career. The other one third are stellar writers. If you are thinking about English and want a school that will teach you how to write then this is the school for you. Otherwise it is just another private college tucked away in cornfields between the Deleware and Chesapeake Bay.

It's really easy, just make sure you have many extra curriculars and you are pretty much set!
