Go into the networking department. The instructors have tons of field and teaching experience. You will learn more about security in that program than you will in the security program. Then you can pick up the security concepts along the way.
As long as you've completed high school or your GED, you are welcome here. Be sure to fill out financial aid forms whether you think you are qualified or not.
