Sep 21 2002Political Science NYU is an emerging powerhouse in higher education, or that is what they want us to believe. It still has a high percentage of in-staters, which is something it is trying to lower, so the bar for students in-state is higher.
Luckily, I am from the Texas, and I think there is a slight consideration of geographical affirmative action. When I applied, I had a 4.12 weighted GPA with 1320 SAT score and 31 ACT score. I was class president, prom chairman, and was a leader in many smaller groups, I played two instruments, I won awards from the community, I volunteered in AIDS effort, and I was in the IB program.
I doubt I needed all of that to get in the school, but every little thing gives you an edge. Admissions into this school is a crapshoot, because the administration is known to try to create diversity. Though scores are very important, everything else puts you over the top.
ACT: 31 SAT: 1320 Male
Aug 22 2002Geography and Geosciences If the school looks like you would like to attend it fill out an application. I would recommend to visit the campus and see it for yourself. Stay overnight in the dorms to see if you could live there and make the best choice for yourself and no one else.
ACT: 24 Female
Jul 22 2002Undecided To get in, I applied. That's about all it takes. We're trying to UP admissions. For a shoe-in, make sure you look like a liberal, radical, activist, vegan, hippie, punk rocker, or sexual deviant.
