As long as you are a C student, theyJan 28 2010Psychology
As long as you are a C student, they will welcome you with open arms. However, they will help you accelerate in academics. I basically worked VERY hard, more hard than most "scholar" students in high school to get into UMBC. However, graduating top 10% is not good enough to be a part of the UMBC scholars program. I would not recommend UMBC to anyone because you can get your money's worth elsewhere.
I have always been involved in a variety ofJan 12 2010Education
I have always been involved in a variety of activities from an early age. Throughout my childhood I have been involved in many activities such as: Girl Scouts, School Choir, Dance, Varsity Cheerleading team, Yearbook Sports Editor, Gymnastics, Religious School teacher's aide, and Pop Warner junior coach. I did all of these activities while keeping up a good GPA throughout the years. I also had two jobs prior to starting college. I currently still work as a camp counselor at YMCA Capital District-Camp Nassau in Guilderland, New York. I also worked as a teacher's assistant at my temple (Beth Emeth) in Albany, New York for four years. I recommend students to get involved in a variety in activities in high school- both a part of the school and activities outside the school. Having a part-time job during high school is a great way to show time management, all while keeping up with studies. Getting into college is a hard process, so the more activities you are involved in, all while keeping up with schoolwork, shows schools that you can manage your time well in a successful manner!
I am a fashion merchandising major, so in orderJan 12 2010Other
I am a fashion merchandising major, so in order to get accepted into the program I had to do a project. I made a power point of a designer of my choice and spoke about what changes I would do if I were the CEO of the designers company along with other changes. I worked so hard on this project and when I was accepted into the Marist fashion program it was one of the proudest moments of my life.
