Be honest in your applicationJan 22 2006Electrical Engineering
Be honest in your application. Want to get in. That's all there is to it.
Male
Go to church, no matter what church it isNov 01 2005Geography and Geosciences
Go to church, no matter what church it is. Spritual and religious attendance and key. BYU would much rather have a smart religious man, than a brilliant atheist.
Start being smart early in high school go toFeb 19 2005Communications
Start being smart early in high school; go to seminary if LDS; get your application in EARLY. Start preparing everything prior to when they start accepting applications. IF you get wait listed and accepted to start in the summer not fall, you can always petition the admissions office by sending them a letter and giving a legitimate reason as to why you need to start in the fall. (IE, "my dad doesn't have a job, and so I need to work for the summer to earn tuition money"). If you don't get in at all, consider the other byu schools and even consider the Salt Lake Center, where you can start taking your generals and transfer after a semester or two.
ACT: 27 SAT: 1040 Female
My ACT score of 27 was about average forJun 15 2004English
My ACT score of 27 was about average for getting in to BYU at the time I applied. Alot of people get in with ACT scores a lot lower than mine. Because the school has religious affiliations they are looking for students with a service orientation and high ethical standards. In your essays you can stress any community or church service you have done. Maybe tell of times you made a decision to be honest. Everything in the school: teacher/student relations, testing, etc is based on integrity. Good luck! Its worth the application.
ACT: 27 Male
Just fill out the online application by January 15thApr 05 2004Music - Performance
Just fill out the online application by January 15th if you want to apply for the Hinckley scholarship, February 15th otherwise. If you want to get into the school of music, I strongly recommend you get in contact with your instrument teacher and audition your senior year in high school. Names, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses for the teachers can be found at the BYU website (A-Z listing > Music, school of). Hope to see you here in Utah Valley!
ACT: 34 SAT: 1480 Female
